Making The Most of Our Last Days in Sorrento
Welcome to the final chapter of our Italian journey! Over the past few days, we’ve wandered through stunning landscapes, indulged in unforgettable meals, and soaked up the rich history and culture that make Italy so magical. In this last part, we’ll share the highlights of our time in Naples, including a Michelin Star dining experience, ancient artifacts, and a few bites we just couldn’t resist having again. Let’s wrap up this incredible 10-day adventure in the most delicious and memorable way!
Day 7
We kicked off our day with a delightful Lemon Farm Tour at a charming family-owned spot called La Masseria. We met Rafael and Eugene—two amazing brothers who are 4th-generation farmers keeping their family’s legacy alive. Their farm is like a little slice of paradise, boasting 300 olive trees, 800 lemon trees, and a rainbow of fresh vegetables for all seasons. They even have fig, orange, and persimmon trees sprinkled around. What’s even cooler? The entire farm is fully sustainable—zero waste, baby!
After strolling through their picturesque farm, we were treated to a homemade lunch straight from their fields. Everything—from their delicious olive oil to their jams and limoncello—is crafted with love and bursting with flavor. It was a feast to remember!
But wait, the day didn’t stop there! That evening, we leveled up with dinner at Lorelei, a Michelin Star restaurant perched right over the ocean. Not only was this our first Michelin Star dining experience, but it came with an unbeatable view of the stunning Sorrento marina. As you’d expect, the food was absolutely extraordinary—the flavors were as unique as the ingredients, and the presentation? Total works of art.
It was a day full of unforgettable flavors, breathtaking views, and memories to last a lifetime. Italy, you’ve completely stolen our hearts!
Day 8
Our morning started at our favorite breakfast spot, Radical. We couldn’t resist going back for their delicious yogurt bowls topped with nuts, granola, and fresh fruit. It’s the perfect way to start the day.
After breakfast, we checked out of our Airbnb and made our way to Naples. Once there, we checked into Palazzo Doria Napoli, and it felt like stepping straight into a scene from Bridgerton. The place was grand, elegant, and absolutely stunning. The staff made us feel like royalty, going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.
For lunch, we finally got to experience our first Napoli pizza. The fresh ingredients and smoky mozzarella were unforgettable, and it was a fun surprise to learn they don’t cut the pizza for you here—it’s all part of the authentic experience. Along with the pizza, we enjoyed a flavorful eggplant parm that was absolutely delicious.
Later in the day, we joined a Secret Food Tour. It was a feast that included fried pasta, limoncello, Campari or Aperol spritz, pizza, cheese, wine, pastries, and espresso. The variety of flavors was incredible, and the whole experience left us feeling full and happy.
Naples truly spoiled us with its charm, its food, and its vibrant energy. Until next time!
Day 9
We kicked off the day with a delicious breakfast buffet and a perfectly crafted cappuccino—fuel for an adventure-packed day ahead. First stop: the National Museum of Archeology. Walking through history, we marveled at artifacts from the first century and spent time exploring an entire wing dedicated to treasures from Pompeii. It was fascinating, and honestly, we could have spent the whole day there.
After soaking up the history, we took a tour of Naples, strolling through its vibrant streets and visiting the bustling port where cruise ships make their grand entrance. For lunch, we just had to revisit one of our food tour favorites—fried pasta. It was every bit as incredible the second time around!
The highlight of the day, though, was dinner at Pastifico a Di Martino, a Michelin Star restaurant that delivered an unforgettable dining experience. Guests sit at a bar encircling the kitchen, watching as the chefs prepare a stunning tasting menu paired with local wines. It felt like a blend of fine dining and live theater, and the food was out of this world. This was hands-down my favorite meal of the trip.
To top it all off, they sent us home with a box of freshly baked goods, which made the perfect snack on the plane ride back. Naples truly knows how to feed both the body and soul, and it was the perfect way to end our Italian adventure.
After ten incredible days of exploring, eating, and immersing ourselves in Italy’s beauty and culture, it was finally time to head home. Our hearts (and suitcases) were full of unforgettable memories, delicious treats, and stories to share. This trip was everything we hoped for and more—a perfect mix of adventure, history, and indulgence. Until next time, Italy!
